Future Schools Trust

Future Schools Trust wanted to expand their fleet of devices across five sites while minimising their environmental impact. Apogee conducted a detailed audit to produce a cost-efficient and sustainable solution.

“Apogee provided a tailored end to end solution which made significant cost savings of over £120,000 to the trust.

The roll-out not only delivered a new level of print efficiency and innovation, but also exceeded FST’s expectations by delivering a cost effective and highly successful model which will only continue to benefit our staff & students for the future.”

The Background

Creating a community of excellence is central to the Trust’s core values and it is paramount that the educational sites provide robust and resilient connectivity for students and staff.

In order to continue providing this connectivity, Future Schools Trust were looking to expand their current fleet of devices across all five sites whilst driving cost efficiencies and reducing their environmental impact with the ultimate goal of working towards a sustainable and better future.

The Solution

Apogee conducted an audit of all five educational sites which gathered volume information, print trends and geographically mapped assets. Based on these findings, Apogee created a new solution which delivered increased cost savings whilst further reducing the Trust’s environmental impact.

Initially, Apogee provided a Managed Print Service inclusive of a fleet of Ricoh multifunctional devices to New Line Learning and Cornwallis Academies which started them on their MPS journey to greater efficiency and improved productivity. Following this, PaperCut print management software was implemented giving the trust full visibility over their usage, providing detailed real-time reporting on spending, essentially enabling them to have full control over costs.

The Outcome

The new solution involved an upgrade of the Ricoh devices to HP PageWide Technology, which provided FST with cost savings of over £120,000 as well as lower power consumption and reduced environmental impact – up to 80% less than the previous Ricoh fleet of devices. It was also key that the devices were easy to use, which resulted in improved efficiency as well as increased data security which has helped FST with GDPR compliance.

As well as the roll-out, Apogee regularly support FST with student initiatives such as sponsoring the library at Cornwallis Academy. Apogee’s donation went towards the provision of new books and other physical resources to encourage the students to use the library as a resource whilst in school.
