Orchard Press are an established Litho and Digital Printers based in Swindon, offering a complete print service, from the design stage to project managing your print through production and delivery. They have built an exemplary reputation based on customer service and the quality of their work.
Jason Grubb, Director, and Steve Pointer, Operations Manager, were keen to ensure the purchase of a new digital press would not only replace their existing machine but also widen the products they could offer their clients and enable them to produce as much of their work in house as possible.
An Apogee Production Print Assessment identified the machine that was the best fit for the business was the Ricoh 7100sx this press has increased productivity and efficiency, turning jobs around more quickly.
Orchard Press can add further value to the work they produce in house with the addition of white and clear toner. They also have the ability to print on a longer digital sheet (up to 700mm) this enables them to keep this larger work in house where they are not reliant on a third party.
A plockmatic booklet maker has increased their in house booklet making facilities, which can work online or offline from the Ricoh. Room was made onsite to keep the existing digital press running whilst the new press was installed. Training was provided to the main operators on both the hardware and the Fiery digital front end, to maximise productivity and efficiency on the new press, before the old one was removed. Support and training from Apogee’s team of Production Print Specialists is available for Orchard Press as and when they need it.
