Kingston Hospital NHS Trust is a district general hospital based approximately 12 miles from central London. The hospital supports some 320,000 people in the surrounding area including the boroughs of Kingston, Richmond, parts of Wandsworth (Roehampton and Putney) and Elmbridge.
Kingston provide a full range of diagnostic and treatment services and have a reputation for innovative developments in healthcare, particularly in ‘patient-focused’ care, day surgery and maternity services.
When Apogee was awarded the contract to provide Managed Print Services for Kington NHS Trust, it was requested that we integrated Cerner printing into the new ‘Secure Print’ system. Primarily, that was to enable user productivity and print service resilience for Cerner printing.
Also it would reduce reliance on Cerner as the Trust often found it to be slow to deal with seemingly simple requests such as provision of new print queues taking in some instances up to 5 days for this to be set up.
Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust had a historic fleet size (704 devices) and objectives of saving money and rationalisation of devices. By overcoming the Cerner direct printing issue we were able to significantly reduce the Trust’s devices from the legacy fleet.
This is a good an example of how Apogee has listened to customer’s needs, investigated potential solutions and brought through to successful completion of a bespoke and customised offering satisfying all requirements.
