APOGEE ACQUIRES LONGEST SERVING CANON DEALER
Once again, Apogee Corporation is on the acquisition trail, having announced its fifteenth to date in the form of Central London based, London Business Equipment Ltd.
This Leytonstone business began trading nearly 30 years ago and was awarded a Canon dealership in 1987, making it the oldest Canon office equipment reseller in the UK. LBE has a significant body of loyal customers who will soon be able to experience the benefits of their new partnership with one of the UK’s leading independent suppliers of digital document solutions and managed print services.
Apogee Corporation, with its proven track record for successful acquisitive growth, is truly a company on the move, having completed an impressive five acquisitions last year alone. At a time when many digital document resellers are facing the stiff challenges posed by our current global economic climate, Apogee continues to grow both in the UK and, more recently, through expansion into mainland Europe.
Apogee will now be contacting its newly acquired clients, employing tried and tested integration procedures to ensure a smooth transition for all. It’s a great opportunity for Apogee to demonstrate to LBE’s legacy customers how a business can transform the way it produces, manages and shares documents, through the application of technology, insight and innovation – often hand in hand with the cost reduction opportunities which are synonymous with Apogee’s bespoke solutions.
Organic growth within Apogee continues apace with the recent opening of a new branch in the Bristol region. This branch strengthens Apogee’s UK-wide presence and goes hand in hand with steady staff growth and a sales performance tracking double-digit growth year on year; a fact which is no less true for 2012 in which its sales targets have surpassed 2011 sales for Q1 by over 100%. Apogee is well on target to achieve sales in excess of £70 million in 2012, not taking into account a number of proposed strategic acquisitions throughout the year.
When questioned regarding its latest acquisition, the Apogee Board commented;
“The Apogee value proposition is to deliver innovative solutions to our clients to help them achieve document efficiency which is a compelling argument in these difficult times. Our ability to demonstrate continued growth year after year, both organically and through acquisition, is a testament not only to our proposition but Apogee’s ability to deliver.
We are delighted with our latest acquisition and are sincerely looking forward to working with our new clients to bring Apogee value to their respective businesses.”
Apogee continues to set its sights firmly on growth and, as 2012 progresses, it is apt that Apogee’s achievements are of suitably Olympic proportions. This latest acquisition, which demonstrates Apogee’s resolve, is a key part of a growth strategy that includes a number of future acquisitions in the later stages of negotiation, as well as a series of key organic growth announcements to follow in the coming months.
