FOLLOW ME PRINTING
Follow Me Printing is a relatively new concept in document output management. In legacy printing systems, users send a job to their chosen printer, then walk to the device and collect the resultant document. Utilising software solutions (see EQUITRAC), modern print solutions allows users to send their documents to a non-specific printer. In this solution, prints are not processed automatically but instead, users walk to their chosen device (photocopier, MFD, printer or MFP) and “release” or pull the job down from the central software. This is achieved either by entering a pin number, user name or perhaps by means of a swipe card or thumbprint.
This solution not only gives the users ultimate flexability but also enables waste control as the system can be set to automatically delete un-released jobs after a set period of time.
FollowMe printing is slowly revolutionising the print industry, changing the way people manage their document output improving efficiency and reducing waste.
