eCopy

eCopy is a software based document capture and document workflow solution. eCopy is designed to work on either the touch screen embedded in an MFD (multifunctional device), digital photocopier or MFP, or by means of a secondary touch screen unit bolted to the side of the MFD or similar.

In traditional scanning and data distribution, the end user scans their original hard copy documents using a photocopier, scanner MFD or MFP and sends the scanned images back to their desktop PC or Mac. The data is then sent to another recipient or perhaps stored into a folder structure, or business application of some description.

The introduction of a document workflow and document capture solution, such as eCopy, gives the user a direct interface into their file structure or business application (document management software perhaps) right at the time of scanning on the photocopier, MFD etc.

By bringing the business application to the scanning device, users can scan directly to their final destination, adding additional information (meta data) without the need to return to their workstation, PC or Mac.

eCopy solutions also offer workflow capabilities where the formatting, routing and storage of scanned documents is controlled automatically either through user prompted choices or based on the actual content of the scan itself.
