DUPLICATOR / RISOGRAPH/ PRIPORT
These specialist reproduction devices are commonly found in environments where large volumes of single page documents need to be produced, such as fliers, standard letters etc. Duplicators (or duplo) produce huge volumes of copies at high speed and at lower cost than photocopiers, printers or MFD devices. The difference however is felt at the time of producing the “first copy” of the set. An original is scanned into the device and a latent copy is “burned” onto the reproductive drum unit – a process that takes a little longer than an normal photocopier would.
Once the original has been created, the duplicator then springs to life at full speed. Duplicators are commonly found in schools and other educational institutions where announcement letters, permission slips etc are distributed on mass.
