DOCUMENT CAPTURE
Document Capture in a nut-shell can be defined as intelligent document scanning. It is the process of turning hard copy physical documents into an electronic format and utilising the data contained within the document to make an automated decision upon how the electronic document is processed. Advanced document capture is achieved through the addition of software applications to scanning hardware, most typically digital photocopiers, MFP, multi-functional devices or MFD. With the scanner enabled for document capture the user simply completes the scan, providing additional information and making decisions about how to process the document, where to send it right from the touch screen of the MFD or MFP upon which they are scanning. This process is also referred to as a Document Workflow Solution.
