Assistant Accountant

We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our team in Maidstone. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will support them in the month end process including sales ledger, purchase ledger and general ledger maintenance.

Duties include;

  • Assist with completion of month end journals
  • Bank journal preparation
  • Intercompany reconciliations
  • Sales, purchase and general ledger reconciliations
  • Fixed asset posting
  • Cash flow forecasting Calculation of Commissions for the Sales team
  • Payment of Contractors – Commission
  • VAT reconciliation and payment
  • Company credit card reconciliations
  • Reconcile monthly supplier payments

 

The successful candidate must be at least AAT qualified, and have sales ledger, purchase ledger and general ledger experience gained in a busy, varied role. Experience in a leasing environment would be advantageous.

The ideal candidate will need the following:

  • An analytical eye with good attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Must be able to work both in a team and be able to use their own initiative
  • A very good telephone manner with both internal and external clients
